Red filter

Magenta filter

The GoPro Magenta Dive Filter for the Dive Housing is designed for use with the Dive Housing.
It corrects color when filming in greenish water at depths of between 4 and 20 m.
It's ideal for dives in freshwater lakes or in the sea when the water color is green or the bottom is greenish due to the presence of algae.
The filter clips quickly onto the watertight housing for quick, tool-free installation and removal.

Snorkel filter

The Snorkel filter is the perfect filter for filming at very shallow depths.
This filter is a shade lighter than the red filter, providing a color specifically targeted for shooting in shallow water.
The Snorkel filter corrects the loss of red light underwater, at depths of 1 to 5 meters.
Without this filter, underwater videos often appear oversaturated with green and blue.
By adding the filter, you enable the camera to capture bright, vivid underwater colors.
This filter is designed for shooting in tropical and blue water, but also works well in green water.

Why do you need a red filter?

The purpose of a red filter is to compensate for the loss of red light that occurs underwater.
The reason being that at around 5 meters, there is no red light.
The GoPro's white balance is disrupted by the loss of red light, causing the camera to record colors that are too blue or too green.
A red filter compensates for the loss of red light, encouraging the camera to record natural colors as you see them.

Why do you need a magenta filter?

When diving, the loss of red light disturbs the camera's white balance.
When diving in green water, when the color red is removed from the spectrum, the only color left is green!
Algae turn an ugly lime green.
The magenta filter reduces the excess of green colors, leaving naturally balanced colors.
