After connecting the HDMI cable to your TV and the dock, and your mains charger to the USB-C port, your Switch is automatically recognized by your TV.
Video quality is excellent, just as good as with the original adapter. The big difference is the cost and portability of the cradle.
By pressing the front button on the cradle, you can switch from TV mode to docking station mode. An LED indicator shows you the status.
You can, of course, play while charging your switch using the original 6A mains charger. If you use a 2A charger, you'll be able to play in TV mode without charging the console.

Unlike the Nintendo Switch's original heavy and cumbersome docking station, this docking station is much smaller, easy to carry and works just as well as the original docking station. Its compact size means it can be put in a pocket, in the Switch's pannier or simply in your backpack. You can easily take it with you to the office or to a friend's house without having to carry the whole dock.

With this docking station for Switch, you can play your favorite games on the Switch while charging it. The console rests on the base instead of sliding into the Switch dock like the original. This keeps the ventilation holes clear, preventing the console from overheating, so you can play for hours without risk. With this compact console, there's no risk of scratching the screen (as on the original) when coupling or uncoupling the Switch, since the console is placed on the base.
